Description: L900 x W300mm (Boss: L130 x W80mm)

Shield with rounded ends and central raised boss. The front is painted with a design in faded pigments, with a white ground and meandering lines in yellow with red triangles and quadrangular shapes. The elements are outlined in black or dark brown. The reverse is coloured red. The loop handle is cut from the solid. Donated by collector’s sister, Florence Walker – see the doc 907.

Painted Shield; red & yellow & white with black outline; Very rough with lots of ‘bang’ marks across it; painted on the underside with red ochre (Henry 2012?)
