Painted shield made of wood, with a handle cut from the solid. Donated by collector’s sister, Florence Walker – see the doc 907.
Design represents ‘canoes’ – see another historical version QE1089 and QE1150 in the Queensland Museum and Michael Boiyool Annings contemporary version of this Yidinji shield design which is held in the Queensland Art Gallery collection ‘Bark canoes’ 2004.163 (Barnard 2014).
